Teddy Pendergrass (March 26, 1950 January 13, 2010)
Pendergrass was the lead singer for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. On March 18, 1982 in Philadelphia, Pendergrass was in his Rolls Royce when the brakes failed. The car hit a metal guardrail, and then crossed into oncoming traffic before hitting a tree. Pendergrass injuries included damage to vital nerves, a broken neck and crushed spinal cord. After being unconscious for eight days, he regained consciousness. At the age of 32, Teddy Pendergrass was paralyzed from the waist down and learned that he would be confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of his 28 years.
Christopher Reeve (September 25, 1952 October 10, 2004)
Actor Reeve was best known for his roles as Superman and also the movie Somewhere in Time. On May 28, 1995 he was thrown from his horse during the second of three trial events in an equestrian competition. He was wearing a protective vest and helmet at the time. When thrown from the horse, Reeve landed on his head breaking his neck. At the age of 42, Christopher Reeve was confined to a wheelchair and could not breathe without the help of a respirator for the rest of his life. Reeve required extensive long term care for 9 years.

Michael J. Fox - (born June 9, 1961)
Fox is a Canadian/American film and television actor. He is best known for his roles in Back to the Future, Family Ties and Spin City. Fox was only 30 years old when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991. He disclosed his condition to the public in 1998. As the symptoms of his disease progressed, in 2000, Michael Fox decided to retire from full-time acting.
Teri Garr (born December 11, 1944)
Garr is an American actress best known for her roles in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Oh God!, and her nomination for an Oscar as best supporting actress as Dustin Hoffmans actress friend in Tootsie. It was around 1981 at the age of 37 when she was filming Tootsie that she first noticed her symptoms of MS. Teri Garr announced to the public in October 2002 that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
